Scott Cox has been a ruling elder in the San Francisco Orthodox Presbyterian Church since the mid 1980′s. Raised as a Southern Baptist, he was exposed to theistic evolutionary thinking prior to the Convention’s return to more Biblical-based theology and practice in the late 1970′s.

Scott holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and enjoys natural history pursuits (botany, birding, hiking, photography).  He is preparing to teach Math, Science and Comparative Religion this coming Fall at El Sobrante Christian School.  He also worked for Chevron Chemical Company, Clorox Technical Company and Bank of America prior to launching a new career in teaching.

In his presentation, Scott will speak about what the Bible has to say about creation and compare some of the various models used by Christians.  Scott is a proponent of the young earth model.

Scott is a very gifted and knowledgeable speaker.   He speaks at a level well suited for young people, so please feel free to bring youth and students along!

Dr. Ting Wang taught Hebrew at Stanford University. He has a PhD from Hebrew Union Seminary Cincinnati and an M. Div from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is now a youth pastor at Korean Central Presbyterian Church in Daly City, CA.

Dr. Vern Nellis, a retired biology teacher, will be speaking to us about evolutionary errors that are still being taught in text books. Ever see pictures of embryonic development in biology text book which are used to cite “proof” for evolution? Well, Vern will tell you why this information is poor science and how you as a Christian can address this.

About the Speaker:
Bill Belew, PhD spent nearly 20 years in Asia. He lived mostly in Japan (he speaks, reads and writes Japanese) and spent considerable time in China and Far East Russia as well.

This presentation will focus on Chinese characters (hanzi/kanji) that can clearly be seen to tell parts of the Genesis story.

Participants will learn to draw some of these characters to share with Asian understanding friends. The session is appropriate for all ages. No previous experience in Chinese/Japanese is needed. Come with a learning heart and a bring a pencil and an eraser.

As a former science and technology professional at at IBM’s Almaden Research Center, Pastor Pereira has gracefully departed from his career in research and has devoted himself to serving the Lord in full-time pastoral ministry, “for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.” (Eph. 4:11)

Pastor Pereira is currently building and maintaining a biblical creation ministry, entitled Evolution-Exposed.com, from which he has presented several creation seminars that proclaim the word of God as authoritative in all matters, including genuine science.

Pastor Pereira is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from The Master’s Seminary concurrent to his service in the ministry at Trinity Bible Church in Morgan Hill, CA.
